Today I would like to show a nice robotic project in Ilmenau. Created by Ben Schäfer from H&S-Robots. His “robots bar” will open next week, THU, 27.06.2013 with a big opening party. Main attraction is his humanoid bar keeper. This is a public bar and you can visit it every day: Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 22, 98693 Ilmenau.
This one is running without robolinks (but I admit it looks good!). We are in discussion for a robolink version for the future. More informations on the HS-robots website:
on last Hannover show, we have presented our new electrical gripper for robolink arms. It is availaable from stock now!
A preliminous data sheet is in preparation, here are some main charasteristics: 24VDC, 3,6W, 180gr, total length 220 mm, plug&play (connection M8x1, 3 pole). List price 374,00 €/pc. Attached a Video of this gripper.
The gripper “fingers” can be exchanged and individually configured by laser sintering!
from 06.05. – 10.05. we had a small boooth at the ICRA conference in Karlsruhe (GER). More than 1.900 roboticists met there and discussed about new and future trends. Here are some impressions from this very international event and from our 6m² booth:

on this year’s hannover show we presented the first robolink 6 DOF unit in opration, equipped with our new “base joint” RL-90-BL1. Please take a look at our new catalogue or the robolink news flyer (attached):
The basic idea for this development is the wish to be able to build up a 6 DOF robot. For that purpose, a strong “base joint” was needed. It had to be stronger than the previous versions, and it should be able to lead the wires and cables of at least 4 more DOF inside, as well as additional pneumatic and/or electric cables.
The new joint is based on igus’ “PRT-01-50” slewing ring bearing. It has 2 DOF (degres of freedom): 1) rotation (+/-90°), 2) pivoting movement (+/-90°).
At this year’s hanover fair (08.04.13-12.04.13) we will present this base joint in a 6 DOF robot arm. Today you can watch 2 videos: 1) first kinematic test of the 2 DOF base joint RL-90-BL1 and 2) first test run of a 6 DOF installation, with 2 more robolink joints.
once again I want to link to Malte Ahlers homepage and 2 of his Videos from his robot project ADAM A1. Now he is really running the 5DOF arm and he is using the 2nd one as teach-in arm. The movement speed and reaction time between left and right arm really impress me!
